« La saison des sorcières » is an inner trip into the thoughts, dreams, angers, deceptions and hopes of Fester. An odyssey at the borders of Celtic music, blues and folk too. The stripped-down musical arrangements of the eleven original songs highlight their contrasts: sometimes light, sometimes dark. Fester plays on distance, sometimes giving the impression of being surprisingly close, as on « Waterfall », or « La Part des Rêves », where he whispers his nightmare visions into the ear of his listener. On « Sail On », he sings his farewell to a friend gone too soon, in a frantic duet between guitar and organ, with Celtic undertones. At times the distance increases, self-restraint returns and he moves away from people and comes back to the elements, as in« toi l'océan ». Fester recorded all the tracks from this album in his home studio, staying true to his vision of « do it yourself » blues/folk music. As a true craftsman, he was intimately involved in every single aspect of the creative process. His longtime friend, Anthony Honnet plays all the organ parts on this record. Fester laid down the music, the lyrics, and the production.
